As a home cook, the desire to own one of these Dutch oven has been a constant back burner. Finally was able to save money to buy it. Well, are you thinking of what is the result. Cooked a whole chicken roast and veggies with exceptional results. The entire family were satisfied with the results. However, attention is required for : 1) not over heating the container, safe to use lowest flame on the gas stove as it heats uniformly and quickly; 2) avoid banging the container as it will lead to micro cracks which will develop into bigger ones; 3) cool the container before applying cold (normal room temperature) water for cleaning. The question whether it is value for money : maybe INR 1K less would be so. Although the colours available are blue and red, we chose Red as preference as it was the liking of the family.

Good looking and must have who loves cooking . Value for money , size is absolutely perfect for 2-4 family size . Colour is gorgeous. Still yet to use just waiting to start . I got this product in a leap of faith because most reviews were not that good. But their 3.5l Dutch oven had decent reviews. So bought thinking I will return it if not good. But it was well packaged. No damages and looks exactly like le creuset but in 1/3 of the price. It is very heavy as expected and provides even heating. Perfect for making large batch of Briyani. Go ahead and get this one if you are looking for a Dutch oven in India that affordable without burning a hole in your pocket.
Edit – I have been using this for a month plus now and absolutely love it.
Provides even heating with good heat retention and no chips of ceramic or nothing yet. Go for it!

I named her Penelope. She was my last year’s Christmas gift. She came all pretty and robust. But that was just the looks to begin with. She helped me make the most stunning Panatonne that I could have ever made on Christmas Eve, followed by a delectabke 3 ingredient mutton stew. The slow cooking, perfect retention of heat and uniform heating, thick bottom and sturdy lid did the trick for me. Now I am planning to buy the smaller version to bake and cook more. This is something I would pass down to my grandkids someday. I have already checked all the shipping costs even if we move to another country. Trust me buddy, get your own Penelope. She won’t disappoint.

While the product is an attractive one, watch out for the knob on the lid – that adds to the height and most Indian ovens cannot take the cast iron pot with its lid, on the middle rack.

Product is chipped and used, wrong color, return is available only after 20 days. Also, replacement is also defective. Dont buy this product and dont buy from AMAZON
