It’s a mild saffron but passes the sniff, taste and texture tests; does not fall apart in cooking (ie, not falsified with gelatin). While its flavor is on the mild side, its price and availability make it still more affordable to use than more expensive sources and it makes wonderful saffron rice and works well in making challah. One tin lasted me about ten months, which for less than $20 (even with adding a little extra sometimes to amp up the flavor), I consider quite decent!
