I purchased this coffee after some friends of mine from India shared it with me. After that time I was hooked. I had some co-workers to try it and love it now. I accidentally left my new jar of Bru coffee on the counter in the break room. When I returned to retrieve it, over half the jar was gone! I learned my lesson to not leave it out anymore! LOL I love the other Bru coffee with chicory too. They both are my go to coffees.

This product is ‘Bru’ ‘Gold’ freeze-dried instant coffee powder in ‘Original’ variant.
The list of ingredients mentions soluble coffee powder as the sole constituent of the product.
The packaging states that the beverage can be prepared hot, with water or milk as its ‘base’. Sugar can be utilized as a sweetener, which can, at best, be interpreted as ‘white sugar’.
I utilized hot dairy-based ‘toned’ milk as ‘base’ for preparing the beverage, adding a tsp of white sugar to it.
The powder dissolves easily when mixed in with the ‘base’, without the formation of ‘lumps’.
When prepared, the beverage emits a moderately strong ‘coffee’ aroma.
Upon taste, it delivers on the expected ‘Coffee’ flavour with a ‘smooth’ mouthfeel. It does not leave one with an unpleasant ‘bitter’ aftertaste. It can serve well as one’s ‘introduction’ to the ‘world’ of ‘Coffee’.
The ‘Coffee’ flavour can be increased or ‘tamed’ in terms of ‘strength’: as per the ‘base’ and sweetener utilized.
I truly feel that social media and advertisements can be utilized effectively by the brand so as to cater to varying needs. Consumers should be informed if or not other options can be put to use as ‘base’ and/or sweetener for preparing the beverage, such as: ‘Plant’-based non-dairy ‘milk’ options, milk alternatives for people suffering from lactose intolerance, and/or brown sugar, artificial sweeteners, honey, jaggery, and stevia for instance.
I am glad that a clear-cut option for hot ‘Black Coffee’ has been provided for as per the product’s packaging. The brand, though, should make consumers know if or not the product is suitable for the preparation of ‘cold’ coffee beverage(s).
Overall, this product is worth the purchase.
