Very Easily to use , Sound is impressive for the size of the radio pocket friendly and for the price it’s a on the higher side considering the import duties it’s understandable. Reception is good on fm great on mw and sw. Air band works fine, Must buy for radio lovers. Love the Amber backlit display. Only thing i disliked was the audio muting when tuning the bands. That’s common in many DSP radios.

I am quite impress with this pocket rocket. It is having good build quality and sound quality is very good. But it is having poor battery life. Battery status become half within one hr FM listening after full charge. Not sure about the battery quality. Thatswhy remove one star from the rating

The radio consists of all the bands you would require such as FM,AM,SW,LW and the best of them all, the AIR BAND !!!!!
I was able to hear crisp and clear conversations of aircrafts approaching Delhi from like 70+ kms away from the airport. Also this radio has such powerful reception on its stock antenna, that i got to hear a cathay pacific flight conversing approx 200+ kms. You just need to know the correct frequencies 😉
The rest of the bands also are like peanuts for this receiver !
Daily I hear to the morning as well as the evening broadcast of BBC World Service(1413mhz as well as SW)on this radio and they are as well crystal clear to the ears with good reception.
The Medium Wave(AM) is also on point! Got to hear about 50+ stations from nepal,pakistan,china and even bangladesh considering i reside in Gr.Noida.
The ShortWave on this thing works like a charm 🙂
The reception is best at night and satisfactory during the day. Got to hear from multiple countries such as Kazakhistan, pakistan, saudi arabia, china, russia, and even a tad bit of American broadcast.
Coming to the FM part, it is as well receptive as the other bands are !
Let it be Red FM or Radio Mirchi or any other station, this radio can even catch the least powerful frequencies.
The provided external antenna by Sihuadon is just a cherry on top 🙂
I have added a Clip as well as a pic of me receiving the Aircraft communication’s from very far away and considering i live in a place full of other radio disturbances.

If you want a radio at approx half the price of Xhdata d-808 and can compromise with SSB, then this radio by sihuadon will blow your expectations by far considering its price, size and portability and functionality. And let me tell you, the speaker on this sihuadon r-108 is faar faaarrr better as compared to the d-808 by xhdata. As Sihuadon has an acoustic chamber specifically designed to give you rich crisp and bassy sound, all balanced. And let me tell you, i have listened to the d-808 by xhdata as well, but it lacks that speaker punch which the sihuadon has !
And last but not the least, the Battery!
The backup i get is approx 14-15 hrs of continuous playback irrespective of the band at 60% volume. I listen to about like 2-3 hrs of radio a day sometimes a bit less, but this thing lasts me like almost a week or 5 days over a single charge, for me which is very convenient.
And for the people thinking that this uses BL-5C batteries and why not the li-ion batteries ? Well according to me, the BL-5C are more easily available in india as they were used extensively in the Nokia’s and i can get a new battery easily from any mobile shop, so BL-5C for the win 🏆

The RADIO is good in terms of Sound Quality and design but it’s extremely small suze was not liked by my Dad whom I wanted to Gift it.
Now I have selected iGEAR RADIO for my Dad from Amazom. I will place my order once I will receive the amount of back.

Performance is average. Commensurate with price paid. Has AIR band. Which means it has capacity to receive aircraft communications. Selectable BW in LW/MW/SW/Air is a great interference cutting feature. It has a squelch feature which can be disabled. Received signal level and SNR is displayed. Has alarm feature. Each band has 100 memories so it has a total of 500 memories. An external wire antenna is provided in addition to the telescopic whip antenna attached to radio. I have a SW7600GR and my comments are in comparison to that.

This is one of the smallest radios from xhdata but has the most powerful sound. Bass response is good and powerful, treble has 2 settings – voice and music. Music has full range sound and voice has a treble cut. The sound is better than the D109 as well as interestingly more powerful than the Tecsun 9700DX which is a 6 volt radio with 3 inch speaker. This is the best sounding in the entire xhdata lineup.
Volume control is analog. There is loud pop on headphones if bands are changed.
Reception is where I have faced minor issues with this. When close to the body or in my hands the reception is fine, but if it is kept standing alone away from the body reception drops off slightly. It is ok for strong signals and this issue shows up only for weak signals. Don’t get me wrong, reception is not bad at all, it is just one step below excellent.
Interface is good and has vf/vm tuning, so I can scroll through presets using the tuning knob. It has all the other features of the D808 except ssb.
Overall definitely a good radio, recommended. If you only want to buy one radio then it is a tough choice between this and D109, I would buy this because of the better sound but you would be equally good buying the D109 at a lower price and the sound of the D109 is just one notch lower than this one while reception is slightly better.
