1/3 🚀 Upgraded my old desktop with a Kioxia SSD, and the difference is NIGHT and DAY! Boot times? Under 20 seconds. File transfers? Super fast. If you’re still using an HDD, this is the upgrade you NEED. #TechUpgrade #SSD
2/3 For the price, Kioxia SSD delivers solid performance. No crazy speeds, but for everyday tasks, it’s a game-changer. Plus, a 3-year warranty for peace of mind. 👌 #BudgetTech #SSDReview

If you’re looking for a reliable and cost-effective SSD for your PC or laptop, the Kioxia Exceria 960GB is a solid choice. Kioxia, formerly Toshiba Memory, has built a reputation for delivering high-quality NAND storage solutions, and this SSD is no exception.
Performance & Speed
The Kioxia Exceria 960GB uses 3D TLC NAND and offers SATA III (6Gb/s) connectivity, making it ideal for upgrading older systems or expanding storage in budget builds. While it won’t match NVMe speeds, it delivers sequential read speeds of up to 555 MB/s and write speeds of up to 540 MB/s, which is more than enough for general computing, gaming, and even content creation tasks like video editing.
Reliability & Endurance
With a TBW (Terabytes Written) rating of around 240TB and MTTF (Mean Time to Failure) of 1.5 million hours, this SSD ensures durability and long-term reliability. Kioxia also provides a 3-year warranty, which adds peace of mind.
Real-World Usage
In everyday use, the Exceria 960GB significantly improves boot times, application launches, and file transfers compared to traditional HDDs. It’s also power-efficient, making it a great option for laptops, helping to extend battery life.
Pros & Cons
✔ Affordable price for a 960GB SSD
✔ Reliable 3D TLC NAND technology
✔ Decent SATA III speeds for general use
✔ Good endurance and warranty support
✖ Limited by SATA speeds compared to NVMe SSDs
✖ No DRAM cache, which may impact performance in heavy workloads
Final Verdict
The Kioxia Exceria 960GB SSD is an excellent choice for users upgrading from an HDD or those who need a budget-friendly SATA SSD for storage expansion. While it doesn’t compete with NVMe drives in raw speed, it offers a great balance of price, performance, and reliability, making it perfect for gaming, content creation, or general computing needs. If you’re looking for a dependable SATA SSD at an affordable price, this is definitely worth considering.

Got this on great indian summer sale for 4.5k and additionally got a sata ssd enclosure for 400rs to make this into a portable ext ssd.
Using primarily for Mac and iphones and i musr say it was a surprise that it performs so well.
Mac users will have to go to disk utility and erase the partition-exfat and GUID and it will be ready to use. Same like format drive to FAT/NTFS on windows. Speed is not amazing but not bad either. Getting somewhere around 300MBPS avg read and write speed with that ssd enclosure. Perhaps that could be a limiting factor.
The disk itself feels light and robust with aluminium chassis. All in all a good cheaper alternative to either internal ssd or buy and enclosure and make an ext ssd.

I’m a video editor and graphic designer, and I purchased this product on 14th December 2024. Today is 23rd April 2025, and it’s been just around 4 months—and it’s already crashing repeatedly. As someone who relies heavily on stable performance, this has been extremely frustrating. I expected durability and reliability, but this turned out to be the worst product I’ve ever used. Definitely not worth the investment. Highly disappointed!
