If you have a room larger than 200 sq. ft. but don’t want to go for a 2-ton AC, the Hitachi 1.5 Ton 5-Star Heavy Duty AC is an excellent choice. My 230 sq. ft. room cools down in less than five minutes, and the performance has been outstanding. It is superior to Panasonic, Daikin, LG, Samsung and several other brands when it comes to cooling. It may not be the most silent one at 39 db (self tested), but you will rarely notice that, especially when you never need to operate the machine at its 100% capacity.
Pros:

✅ Four-way air swing for uniform cooling
✅ Smart AC – can be controlled via phone
✅ Higher wattage than regular 1.5-ton ACs, delivering superior cooling power

Cons:
⚠️ Installation Issue – The technician tried to skip vacuuming the unit before releasing the refrigerant. (Ensure this is done for optimal performance.)
⚠️ No other cons – This AC is an absolute beast, yet energy-efficient, making it a tamed beast!
Installation Tip:
One crucial step during installation is to ensure the technician vacuums the AC before opening the refrigerant. This helps in maintaining performance and longevity.
Overall, if you’re looking for a powerful, efficient, and smart cooling solution, this Hitachi model won’t disappoint.

I purchased two Hitachi AC units in June 2025. They offer excellent cooling capacity. Both the indoor and outdoor units run quietly with strong air throw. The FrostWash technology is an added feature—its long-term effectiveness remains to be seen.
I typically set the temperature between 26–27 °C with the AC fan on the lowest speed. The AC cools my 150 sq. ft. room within 10–15 minutes, even on hot days. I run the units for about 8–10 hours daily, and so far, they have been reliable and trouble-free. I also reviewed my electricity bill after two weeks of use and found that the energy consumption is quite competitive compared to similar models in this segment.
The AC comes with a 5-year comprehensive warranty covering electrical and electronic components, along with a 10-year warranty on the compressor. However, according to the warranty document, the unit must be serviced twice a year until the 5th year, and customers are required to pay labor charges for these services.
I purchased the units through Amazon, where the installation charges were listed as ₹799 + GST. However, Hitachi charged ₹1,199 + GST, along with additional costs for bracket fittings and other accessories—something customers should be made aware of in advance.
I am also still using two older Hitachi AC units that are over 10 years old. They have consistently delivered reliable cooling performance. I’ve faced some minor issues—mainly with the remote and the up-down air-throw flapper, which tends to break during servicing. I had to replace the flapper at a cost of ₹1,400. Still, the overall performance of these older units is what motivated me to choose Hitachi again for my new purchase.
Overall, I am satisfied with this model’s performance. However, it recommended to the comprehensive warranty should include two free services per year to offer better value and peace of mind to customers.

Very great choice of Air conditioner Not regretting my decision.
I have Lg, Samsung And Voltas Ac as well in other4 rooms but considered to them being all are 1.5 ton and 5 start ac this chills the room even faster compared to others the powerful and silent mode are the best features .
It is a value for money product.
Technician insisted on checking the leakages and offered the best service.
Even for the extra pipe I didn’t want a joint so he bought a new pipe of full length.

It’s a great product at a great price, got it for 43k in sale. I would like to list out the few points after a month usage.
Pro’s:
1. No brand comes closer in terms of cooling at this price, even though my room is pent house with direct sunlight on all the walls and roof the cooling is instant.
2. It’s a smart AC, so can be operated through mobile and other perks like smart fence, remote cool etc…
3. Power consumption is surprisingly low for this capacity, around 10hrs+ usage everyday gave me 500/- extra bill.
4. The IDU is big and stylish and ODU is big and metal, very heavy condenser (just the grill on the ODU is made of plastic).
5. Remote is one major pro with big keys and detailed layout and also has backlit display.
6. This is not mentioned anywhere but it’s awesome, the temperature can be adjusted in ½ degree (23 to 23.5) like that, it’s very helpful to get the right preference.
7. It does have a anti corrosion coating on the u bends inside IDU blue color coating, again not mentioned anywhere they should do better marketing lol 😅
Con’s:
1. It’s bit on noisy side, I never use the fan speed above level 3, feels like a jet 😂. Actually ODU is more quiet than IDU.
2. The installation is not upto the standards, they just have 3rd party contractors, not very specialized in Hitachi brand, so I had to search myself for all of my queries.
